Her insights and strategic approaches have shaped some of the most successful campaigns in the industry. Clients have included GTE (Verizon), Motorola, Jackson Hewitt, US Franchise Systems, and independent hotels and resorts from around the world. When it comes to trend spotting, Zapala has a Zen-like approach, sensing opportunities that others miss. She uses these opportunities to gain editorial placements for her clients in traditional media outlets and online.

She also works with clients on digital media strategies to build frameworks allowing brands to unite with their key customers, employees and significant partners. Additionally, Zapala specializes in shaping programs/campaigns to help businesses integrate new media resources and systems aligned with processes to effectively embrace branding and marketing objectives. Traditional concepts still play an important role in the overall campaign strategy, but digital media assets are commonly taking center stage with traditional platforms playing a supporting role.

Her ability to combine trends with creative story angles has resulted in numerous  awards, and her articles have appeared in national and international publications: New York Times, London Times, Conde Nast Traveler, Robb Report. Her keen insights have been picked-up by trade journals such as the Public Relations Society of America’s Tactics and O’Dwyers. Zapala’s prowess in the tour and travel industry landed her an invitation to the prestigious Society of American Travel Writer’s Association.  She has been an associate member since 1999.

Before joining Anson-Stoner, Zapala had an interesting and varied career spanning more than 20 years. Her previous experience includes posts as a television producer, corporate communications executive, advertising agency partner, sponsorship coordinator, a tour and travel professional and public relations consultant. These experiences have created a deep reservoir of knowledge, and have equipped Zapala to excel in today’s fast paced communications environment.
